Desktop Sharing
With Desktop Sharing, you can allow all meeting participants to view the contents of your computer screen. For instance, you might want to show everyone a document and invite feedback. Only one person's desktop/object can be shared at any given time. To share multiple panes at the same time, use the Virtual Flipchart feature.
When Desktop Sharing is enabled on your device:
- On everyone else's devices, the video windows of the participants will be automatically moved to the side; your desktop content will become the largest window.
- If you have one monitor: The video windows on your desktop will be hidden by default to avoid sending video content along with the desktop content. You will still be connected to the call and hear the participants, and they will still be able to see and hear you.
- If you have a multiple monitor display: The video windows of other participants will be moved to the monitor(s) that is not being shared.
- You can temporarily give control of your desktop to another participant. To make changes to a document on your computer, he or she is not required to have the same software for editing.
- The in-call toolbar will automatically collapse into a red and white swyMed button. If you expand the toolbar, the entire bar turns red to indicate that you are sharing your content.
- Any changes you make to the shared object, such as editing a document, will be shown on all participants' screens.
If desired, you may keep your video windows enabled during Desktop Sharing. For optimum performance on a single monitor display, this setting is not recommended.
Participants in a video meeting can share their desktops in one of two ways:
- Make your desktop visible to other participants; they will see the same thing that you see on your computer screen.
- Make just one application (object) visible to others; they will only see the selected program window.
During Desktop Sharing, the in-call menu buttons and sub-menu buttons may change according to the context.
